Linkin Park has announced a memorial concert in honor of their late front-man Chester Bennington. The one-night celebration of his life will take place October 27 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
A “number of other artists” are set to join the band for their first performance together as a group since Bennington died by suicide at the age of 41 in July.
According to a press release, the band is donating their performance fees to Music for Relief’s “One More Light Fund,” in memory of Bennington. Linkin Park has also released a new music video for their song “One More Light,” remembering the singer.
Bennington, the band’s lead singer, died by suicide on July 20, 2017. He was found hanging in his Palos Verdes, California home. Since his death, Bennington’s family — he had six children and a wife — have been outspoken on the subject of suicide.
Bennington’s wife, Talinda, used Twitter to share a video from 36 hours before Chester’s suicide, showing him laughing and joking around with his family. She tweeted alongside the video, “This is what depression looked like to us just 36 hrs b4 his death. He loved us SO much & we loved him. #f**kdepression #MakeChesterProud”.
