We’ve all seen it before. In music, television, film, and fashion, some people use the success of others to elevate their own product. And now it seems that the Jenner sisters are up to some old tricks.

Their new vintage inspired capsule collection features concert tees with the pairs’ faces or logo superimposed over the artists’ images. Greats like The Doors, Pink Floyd, Biggie, Tupac, and more are pushed into the background and covered by Kendall and Kylie. In one of the Tupac tees, the late rappers face is actually covered completely by the sister’s logo. But it’s ok because last summer in and interview with Vogue Kendall said Tupac is her “spirit animal”. . .

The sisters are using the popularity of the concert tee style, and of the musicians printed on them to boost their own credibility. In reality, there is not much to be said about the design that went into these shirts. Even some of the photos used of Kendall and Kylie are pulled from Instagram rather than being shot exclusively for the collection. They are simply pre designed concert tees for concerts the girls did not attend with photos printed on top. By attaching their names and faces to popular, classic artist the Kendall + Kylie brand is making thousands.

Social media has been over flowing with disapproval in response to this collection. One twitter user said “So who’s gonna start flaming Kendall and Kylie for putting their trash initials over Tupac’s face?” Another says, “What even is this bs? I’m highly offended they even thought this [Kendall and Kylie’s collection] was going to bang.” A third tweeter says, ” Can Kendall and Kylie stop making clothes? Everything they put out is offensive or a stolen idea lmfaoooo.”  And many more responses like that.

This collection will continue to do well financially, but will otherwise be forgotten because we have seen it before and will see it again. Fashion is about originality and innovation. This collection is neither, and subsequently obsolete. But What do you think about it?
