The air is colder, the lights are brighter and the Christmas tree is up! Santa is on his way, but it wouldn’t be the Christmas season without Christmas music. I started listening to my Christmas fav’s as soon as November 1st was marked off my calendar. In case you’re wondering what to play this season, here are the nine best Christmas songs of all time.
9. The Temptations “Silent Night” – This song is already a classic, but add in the timeless soul of one of the best singing groups there ever was, and you get this amazing Christmas melody you can play every single year.
8. Bobby Helms “Jingle Bell Rock” – It’s one of those songs you just have to play every Christmas season. It’s the song you play while dancing around your Christmas tree, hanging decorations, and watching Mean Girls.
7. Andy Williams “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” – Every year since I’ve been little, I can remember hearing this song. It sends chills through your body and just makes you get in the holiday spirit. I always imagine myself ice skating in Central Park to this song.
6. Eartha Kitt “Santa Baby” – The sultry voice of Eartha Kitt creates a sexy Christmas song that you can sing to your lover and is forever a classic.
5. Stevie Wonder “Someday at Christmas” – I absolutely love this song. There’s always something about Stevie Wonder’s voice that makes me happy and this song makes me even happier to celebrate Christmas.
4. Boyz II Men “Let It Snow” – Although some people prefer the original version, I have to listen to this version by one of my favorite singing groups. Those vocals send a shiver down my spine.
3. Destiny’s Child “8 Days of Christmas” – This is just one of the many versions of “Twelve Days of Christmas”, but it happens to be my favorite. What better way to celebrate Christmas than by hearing this cute song by one the best-selling girl groups of all time.
2. Donny Hathaway “This Christmas” – There are literally a hundred different versions of this song. Besides the legendary original version by Donny Hathaway, my favorite would have to be Chris Brown’s version. Hhowever, it doesn’t matter which version it is, because this song absolutely has to be played every year during the Christmas season.
1. Mariah Carey “All I Want for Christmas” – This has to be on every single Christmas season song list out there. One of the most popular Christmas songs to ever exist, it certainly tops our list.
